How to Play Capybara Onsen

A first-session walkthrough for the Roblox merge tycoon by Dojo Empire.

How to Play

Capybara Onsen is already on Roblox. You join a server that holds up to six people, then you run a personal Onsen. Nobody else has to help you buy a Capybara, deposit Yuzu, or merge. The official description is the whole design: Capybaras drop Yuzu, Yuzu becomes Money, Money buys more Capybaras, merges unlock higher tiers, Lucky Boxes add extras, and the Onsen grows as you discover more units.

This page is the first-hour path. It links out when a job needs its own guide. If you only remember four verbs, remember buy, deposit, merge, and open.

Minute one: spawn and look

Land, turn the camera across the bath, and find three things: the Capybara shop, the Yuzu drop spots, and the deposit point that turns fruit into Money. If the HUD is crowded, open controls and lower camera speed before you tap the shop by accident.

Do not hunt for a codes button yet. The codes hub is empty until a string is verified. Day one progress comes from the loop, not from a promo.

Buy the first Capybara

Spend starter Money on one Capybara. One is enough. A second unit is useful only if you already understand where Yuzu lands. The shop will tempt you to fill every pad. Resist that until you have deposited once. A Capybara that is not earning fruit is just a costume.

After the purchase, stand still for a short idle. You should see Yuzu appear. If nothing drops, you are looking at decoration, not the unit you bought. Walk closer to the Capybara you actually placed.

Deposit Yuzu before you buy again

Pick up or deliver the fruit to the deposit spot. Money should rise. That conversion is the idle half of Capybara Onsen. Leaving Yuzu on the ground is the most common stall. The longer guide is how to get Yuzu and Money. Read it if the deposit target is not obvious on your device.

A good habit: deposit first, shop second. Every time you reopen the shop with unbanked fruit, you are shopping with yesterday’s wallet.

Merge only when a pair is ready

Merging unlocks higher-tier Capybaras. It is also how you delete a unit you still needed for a Lucky Box goal. Wait until two matching Capybaras are actually ready. Then merge once and watch the new tier start dropping Yuzu. The full warning list lives on how to merge. The early-game tier page explains why the first merge beats a third cheap buy.

If you like checklists, tick the first merge on the collection checklist.

Open Lucky Boxes when they appear

Capybaras find Lucky Boxes over time. Open them the same session they appear. A box sitting unopened is a Capybara you already earned and forgot. Details are on how to get Lucky Boxes. Do not save boxes for a future update unless the latest notes say the table is changing.

Expand the Onsen last

Expansion is the victory lap, not the opener. Grow the bath after a merge or after a Lucky Box adds a unit you cannot place. How to expand the Onsen covers the timing. Spending Money on space before you have Capybaras to fill it is how accounts look busy and earn slowly.

First-session checklist

  • Buy one Capybara.
  • Watch Yuzu drop.
  • Deposit the fruit.
  • Buy a second Capybara only if Money remains after the deposit.
  • Merge the first ready pair.
  • Open any Lucky Box you find.
  • Leave a Money buffer.
  • Like and favorite the experience if you want Dojo Empire to keep patching.

That is a complete first session. You can stop there and the Onsen will still idle.

What this game is not

It is not a combat sim. It is not a trading plaza. It is not a story with chapters. If you want a longer opinion, read the Capybara Onsen review. If you want the economy without the tutorial tone, read Yuzu economy.

Come back after a shutdown. The place page says shutdown means update. Check latest notes before you assume a missing button is a bug.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do you play Capybara Onsen on Roblox?

Buy a Capybara, collect the Yuzu it drops, deposit the fruit for Money, merge matching units, open Lucky Boxes, and expand the Onsen when you need space.

Do I need friends to start?

No. Servers can hold six players, but the Onsen loop is personal. You can finish the first merge alone.

What should I do first after joining?

Buy one Capybara and deposit the first Yuzu. Do not expand the bath or hunt codes until that conversion works.
