Capybara Onsen How to Merge Capybaras

Higher tiers come from merges, not from buying every pad in the shop.

How to Merge Capybaras

Merging is the active skill in Capybara Onsen. Buying is the easy click. Depositing Yuzu is the idle click. Merging is the decision that changes your income for the rest of the session. Dojo Empire’s public rules say you merge Capybaras to unlock higher-tier Capybaras. This page explains when that unlock is worth the unit you lose.

If you have not deposited fruit yet, stop and read how to get Yuzu. Merging a pair that has never paid you is how accounts feel poor after a “successful” combine.

What a merge is for

A merge trades two lower units for one higher-tier Capybara. The new unit should drop Yuzu faster or find Lucky Boxes more often. You cannot discover the full roster by shopping alone. The official text says you discover new Capybaras as you go. Merges are the intended discovery button.

Think of the shop as a refill, not as a ladder. The ladder is the merge.

When to merge immediately

Merge now if all of these are true:

  • You have two matching Capybaras ready.
  • Both have already dropped Yuzu at least once.
  • You have deposited that fruit, so Money reflects the work.
  • You still have space, or you are about to expand the Onsen for the new tier.
  • You are not one Lucky Box away from a third copy you wanted to keep.

That last point matters. A box can drop the same tier you were about to consume. If a Lucky Box is seconds from opening, wait. The Lucky Box guide is the sibling page for that pause.

When to wait

Wait if you only have one of a tier and the shop price for a twin is cheap compared with your Money buffer. Wait if merging would empty the Onsen and leave you with a single expensive unit you cannot pair later. Wait if you just joined after a shutdown and the HUD is still settling — mis-taps happen.

The merge priority ranks turn those waits into a simple order: deposit, open boxes, merge, then buy. The merge planner is the same order as a checklist.

Common merge mistakes

Buying three cheap Capybaras and never combining them is the first mistake. You get a cute crowd and a weak Yuzu rate. Merging the only two units you own before they pay for themselves is the second. Merging during a Lucky Box animation is the third — you lose track of what the box added.

A quieter mistake is merging because a video from another game said “always merge.” Capybara Merge Tycoon and Capybara Evolution are not this place. Their orange towers and raid loops do not apply. Stay on the Dojo Empire rules.

After the merge

Watch the new Capybara. Confirm Yuzu starts again. Deposit the next pile before you open the shop. If the Onsen looks cramped, expand once. If it looks empty, buy a low-tier refill only after you check early-game ranks.

Update the collection checklist so you remember which tier you just unlocked. Future you will not remember after a shutdown.

How merges interact with codes and scripts

A future code that grants Money should be spent on completing a merge, not on a random extra pad. See how to redeem codes. Scripts that claim “auto merge” are listed only if we verify them on the scripts hub. Until then, merge with your own tap. A bad auto merge can eat the exact pair you were saving.

Practice loop

  1. Deposit Yuzu.
  2. Count matching Capybaras.
  3. Open Lucky Boxes.
  4. Merge one ready pair.
  5. Watch the new tier drop fruit.
  6. Buy a refill only if no pair remains.

Run that loop until the session ends. It is the whole game.

When you want the roster view instead of the verb view, open the Capybara list. When you want the first-hour tone again, return to how to play.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do you merge Capybaras in Capybara Onsen?

Combine two matching Capybaras after they have dropped Yuzu and you have deposited the fruit. The merge unlocks a higher tier.

Should I merge as soon as I have two units?

Only if both have paid you once and no Lucky Box is about to add a third copy you wanted to keep.

Does merging replace buying from the shop?

Merging is the ladder. The shop is a refill. Buy when no pair is ready.
